Jance’s 17th Ali Reynolds title (following Unfinished Business) is a fast-paced thriller. It combines a police procedural with robotic research in a tale of vigilante vengeance on overdrive.
Jance quickly establishes likable characters and an interesting plot; while the direction of the story is apparent from the start, getting to the conclusion with these characters is an enjoyable trip. Fans of the author will not be disappointed.
Fans of police procedurals with a Southwestern flair will love Joanna’s determination to manage marriage, motherhood, and policing in this 19th “Joanna Brady” book (following Field of Bones).
Well performed by Karen Ziemba, this will appeal to Jance's fans and those interested in similar stories by Karin Slaughter, Lisa Scottoline, Iris Johansen, and Tami Hoag. Recommended.
This seventh Ali Reynolds mystery gets a terrific reading by Karen Ziemba; highly recommended. [The Touchstone hc was a New York Times best seller.—Ed.]
