Library People News: July 2018 Hires, Promotions, Retirements, and Obituaries

Kimber L. Fender retired as director of the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County,  Sue Landers has been named the next Executive Director of Lambda Literary, and more people news from the July 2018 issue of Library Journal.

Jennifer Addington has been selected as Director of the Palos Verdes Library District, CA, effective July 1, after serving as Deputy Director since 2016.

Kimber L. Fender, Director of the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County (PLCHC), has retired after 30 years with PLCHC, effective June 29. Chief Strategy and Technology Officer Paula Brehm-Heeger was appointed Interim Director.

Sue Landers has been named the next Executive Director of worldwide LGBTQ organization Lambda Literary, after having worked in a variety of management roles at the College Board for 16 years. She succeeds Tony Valenzuela, who is stepping down after a nine-year tenure.

George Mason University Libraries, Fairfax, VA, has made three new appointments: Andrew Kierig as Digital Publishing Lead, Mason Publishing Group; Aaron McCollough as Scholarly Communications and Open Access Publishing Lead, Mason Publishing Group; and Chris Magee as Social Sciences Librarian, Social Sciences Team, Arlington Campus Library.
