The Marriage That Made Her Queen

Harlequin Presents. (Behind the Palace Doors…, Bk. 1). Sept. 2022. 224p. ISBN 9781335738769. pap. $5.50. CONTEMPORARY ROMANCE
First in a new series from Anthony (Off Limits to the Crown Prince), this is a royal marriage-of-convenience romance. Grieving the loss of her family, Lise has unexpectedly become heir to the throne, but she cannot officially become queen until she is married. Rafe, a self-made billionaire, may be the groom she is looking for. The two, however, have a passionate past that they first must work through.
VERDICT Anthony does an excellent job of developing characters and backstory, but perhaps a fresh story line would keep readers more engaged.
