Elias is determined to reclaim Middle Eastern artifacts that have been seized by British colonizers and return them to their rightful people, and though he originally sees Catriona as a means to that end, he soon realizes that she is no one’s pawn. Narrator Elizabeth Jasicki has voiced each engaging installment in this delightful series. Her mature voice is well matched to Dunmore’s extraordinary women, and she expertly delivers the complex, character-driven narrative with dramatic and varied presentations.
