Constance Sparks strives to please the people around her and thinks she’s doing all right. She is a paralegal for a top-level law firm, taking on extra work with alacrity. She’s able to work with her best friend, and she volunteers at a last-chance animal shelter in her free time. She has a wonderful fiancé, though she isn’t ready to share her secrets with him.
