I’ll Stop the World

When Justin plummeted off the bridge after swerving to avoid a mysterious figure, he imagined his life was over. He certainly didn’t imagine he would wake up decades earlier, in 1985, just days before the fire that killed his grandparents and set his mother’s life on a tragic course. Whatever forces brought him to the past fortuitously put him in the path of Rose, possibly the only person who would believe his story and try to help him prevent the deaths. Trying to piece together Rose’s knowledge of the town’s current residents with the information Justin brings from the future, Justin teams up with a group of teens, and together they embark on a fight against fate. Thoman debuts with a genre-bending combination of compelling coming-of-age and supernatural mystery. While the teenage tension leans toward YA, the blend of twisting time-travel narrative and nostalgia will captivate adults as well. The compelling cast of nine narrators creates an engaging listening experience.
