Going Rogue), Stephanie and her sidekicks go after a murderer and a jewel thief. Martin Rabner, the owner of the best-known jewelry store in town, has hired Stephanie to find his missing security guard, Andy “Nutsy” Manly, who allegedly stole a diamond tray from Rabner’s safe before vanishing. On the same day, a thief absconded with all the jewelry from the store’s glass showcases. In addition to Stephanie’s usual entertaining and audacious partner, Lula, her boyfriend Morelli’s dog, Bob, also joins the team. And since Morelli is out of town, Stephanie has to rely on fellow bounty hunter Ranger for help, even moving in with him after her apartment is firebombed. Narrator Lorelei King turns in an another outstanding performance in the Stephanie Plum series, employing spot-on comedic timing and perfectly tuned character voices. Her voice for Connie, replete with a strong Brooklyn accent, is especially engaging. A twist at the end will have fans anxiously awaiting book 31.
