Course Description 

Guest speaker sessions via Zoom:
Wednesday,  Jan. 25 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm ET (recordings available)

Getting communities to participate in library programs and services has only become more difficult since the start of Covid. This crash course will help you jumpstart your library marketing by teaching you the foundations of effective and budget-friendly marketing. You will learn how to assess the strengths and weaknesses of your current marketing efforts and how to change course when necessary. You will also have the chance to work on an interactive project with peers to ensure you get hands-on practice developing marketing content to increase traffic to your library. Attend this crash course and learn strategies for marketing programs and services that you never learned in library school.

Cordelia Anderson is the author of Library Marketing and Communications: Strategies to Increase Relevance and Results, available from ALA Editions. As CEO of Cordelia Anderson Consulting, Cordelia works with public and academic libraries as well as other organizations. She has more than twenty years of experience creating marketing and communications strategies for highly visible public organizations. During her decade as Director of Marketing & Communications for Charlotte Mecklenburg Library, she implemented innovative marketing and communications strategies that earned her team the inaugural Library Journal Marketer of the Year Award and two John Cotton Dana Awards. She has extensive experience as a public speaker and trainer, and has spoken at many meetings and conferences.
