The Taxidermist's Daughter

Mosse creates a rich atmosphere of foreboding, from start to finish. Her use of imagery is masterly, and her prose is lyrical and poetic. The novel requires some degree of patience, however, as there are many secrets withheld from the reader to unravel. Despite this flaw, it is certain to please devotees of gothic fiction, atmospheric suspense, and historical thrillers. [See Prepub Alert, 9/14/15.]

Citadel

Very detailed and well researched, this dramatic finale is a compelling mix of romance and historical fiction that succeeds as an epic tale of mystery and adventure. Fans of the first two books of the trilogy will be satisfied. Recommended for historical fiction, fantasy fiction, and adventure/thriller enthusiasts. [See Prepub Alert, 9/16/13.]

The Winter Ghosts

Although Mosse's third novel isn't spooky enough to recommend to die-hard ghost story fans, finely drawn characters and an evocative setting make this a fine choice for lovers of historical and literary fiction. [See Prepub Alert, LJ 9/1/10.]
