Boone's second installment picks up hours after The Hatching concludes. Readers who savored that first book as well as fans of apocalyptic disasters will be thrilled. This novel is definitely a bridge to the next work, and the cliff-hanger ending ensures the need for a third volume.
Readers of John Saul (The Homing) or Arthur Herzog (The Swarm) will be intrigued by this debut effort, as will fans of general horror fiction. For arachnophobes, it is the stuff of nightmares.
