The Secret She Must Tell the Spaniard

Harlequin Presents. (The Long-Lost Cortéz Brothers, Bk. 1). Feb. 2023. 224p. ISBN 9781335739117. pap. $5.75. CONTEMPORARY ROMANCE
It had been 10 years since Alicia Griffiths last saw Graciano Cortéz. He’d become arrogant and hardened over the years and not at all how Alicia remembered him. Their short but passionate time together led to her nine-year-old daughter’s existence, but she’s never told him. When Graciano wins Alicia’s event planning services in a charity auction, it means they’ll be spending a week together on his island—certainly she can find a time to tell him then. Despite a slow start, this series launch will end up winning readers over in the end. Connelly (Pregnant Princess in Manhattan) gradually builds up the characters’ backgrounds, eventually developing well-liked protagonists.
VERDICT Fans of island locales will be drawn to this story of second-chance romance.
