This fast-paced novel comes at the right time for those infected with the Lincoln bug and who enjoyed books such as Mrs. Lincoln's Dressmaker and Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter. O'Brien, national editor for the Huffington Post, has penned a story with flawed but likable characters. Paul Boehmer is a comfortable fit for the narration, having previous experience (The Impeachment of Abraham Lincoln) giving voice to some of history's great characters.
