Rescued by the Ranger

Avon Impulse. Sept. 2015. 384p. ebk. ISBN 9780062328403. $2.99. CONTEMPORARY ROMANCE/MILITARY
OrangeReviewStarArmy Ranger Garrett Harding comes to Cougar Ridge Hunting Lodge to find his Aunt Peg and get answers to the plaguing questions that surround his estranged and deceased mother. What he finds at the Cougar Ridge Watering Hole in Grizzly Gulch, ID, is a red-haired, green-eyed beauty named Rachel Maguire, who is being abducted by the local bad boys—or at least they are attempting to abduct her—until she gets her hands on the gun she has stashed behind the counter. And while Garrett finds himself drawn to protect this stalked woman, it is Rachel who fights to keep Garrett away—to protect him from the lunatic who promises retribution to any man to whom Rachel gets too close. But this army ranger knows how to fight a madman—and protect and keep the one woman whom he claims as his own.
VERDICT The best hero is a hunky war veteran with an attitude and cocky grin, and Brown (Tempt the Night) has created that in spades. Rescued by the Ranger introduces fans to the Cougar Ridge Hunting Lodge, now co-owned by Garrett and his equally attractive brother, Luke. Garrett, searching for answers, meets the hunted Rachel, and together they must fight for a chance to be whole. Settle in and be rescued by a great story.
