In an alternative world where humans are few and supernaturals including shape-shifters, vampires, and even a Medusa hold sway, Meg Corbyn, human prophet, has found refuge with the Others. While this one is not quite as gripping as the first title in this series, Written in Red, Bishop continues to build a fascinating and complex world filled with developing characters, realistic relationships, and growing suspense. Enough backstory is presented for new listeners to start with this volume. Alex Harris's dramatic narration is at a leisurely pace that's appropriate for this deceptively simple story.
