The most recent title in Jance's series (after Deadly Stakes) takes the listener from Arizona to England and back again in a fast-paced story involving the use and misuse of technology, espionage, travel, family crises and secrets, murders, and mystery that leads to a satisfying, if somewhat predictable, conclusion. Ali is truly a multitasking role model as she solves two mysteries and still has time to choose her wedding dress! Even though familiar characters such as Leland Brooks; Sister Anselm; and Ali's fiancé, entrepreneur B. Simpson, play their roles in the story, the book may be enjoyed as a stand-alone. Broadway performer Karen Ziemba, who has done most of the Ali Reynolds entries, provides first-rate narration.
VERDICT In addition to series fans, recommend to those who enjoy works by Tess Gerritsen, Lisa Gardner, and Marcia Muller.
