The students and adults of Guadalupe Middle School are celebrating Career Day, unaware that someone bent on revenge is among them. Over the course of this day, listeners are given detailed accounts of the thought process of many of the individuals on-site, from principal Linda McDonald to a local detective to the school custodian, students, and their families. The most interesting aspect here is the interwoven backstories of several characters. These detailed histories provide the context for the story's violent end. Pilar Witherspoon's cadence is exciting, and her many voices—male, female, variously accented—make the characters come to life.
