This opening volume of Carlan's (Angel Falling) "International Guy" series encompasses the first three of a projected 12 novellas—"Paris," "New York," and "Copenhagen"—and introduces sexy business partners Parker, Bo, and Royce. The Harvard graduates formed International Guy (IG) in order to help women create the life of their dreams, using each of their particular talents. Numbers-fiend Royce is known as the Moneymaker, renowned dating expert Bo is the resident Lovemaker, and narrator Parker is considered the Dream Maker and willing life coach for any woman who can pay the price. In "Paris," sparks fly between Parker and Sophie Rolland, the heiress to a perfume company who needs to show her new employees that she's more than ready to adopt the role of CEO. The guys help her look, act, and play the part, but Parker finds his interest extending far beyond a business partnership. In "New York," IG's new client is beloved starlet Skyler Paige, who is losing motivation in the heat of the spotlight. It takes all Parker has to resist succumbing to his celebrity crush, especially when the feelings appear very, very mutual. "Copenhagen" has the trio tackling their biggest job yet: attempting to tame wild Danish princess and imminent queen Christina Kaarsberg. Christina's free spirit and refusal to accept the crown (or the crown prince's proposal) has thrown the whole family and country into potential disarray, and it's up to IG to set things right without leaving a royal mess. Parker's easygoing chivalry and alluring confidence set the stage for plenty of steamy adventures across the globe. Readers will be intrigued to see if one of his many flings holds Parker's heart long-term.
VERDICT Recommended for fans of Carlan's contemporary series.
