Give Up the Ghost

Carina: Harlequin. (Not Dead Yet, Bk. 2). Jun. 2019. 256p. ebk. ISBN 9781488036262. $4.99. PARANORMAL ROMANCE
Wes Cooper is a corporeal ghost. He died, was sort of resurrected, and seems human most of the time...until he vanishes into his ghost form and steps into another dimension. Then Wes’s ex, Hudson Rojas, comes back into his life with secrets of his own—namely, that he’s a vampire. An on-again couple after more than 30 years, Wes and Hudson are trying to start up a fledgling PI firm as Wes recovers from an encounter with a demon. However, the ghost world isn’t done with Wes, and as his powers spiral out of control, it looks like the demon world may not be either. Wes has to find out exactly what happened to him when the demon attacked, and the answers may mean the end of life as he knows it. Burke (coauthor with Kelly Jensen of the popular “Chaos Station” sf series) handles Wes’s asexuality in a low-key, positive manner, making the focus the strong relationship between Wes and Hudson and the mystery in their lives.
VERDICT Libraries where paranormal romances are popular should add this series.
