Art historian Fiegel and aviation historian Hamady (The Nieuport 28: America’s First Fighter) chronicle the lives of preeminent commercial and technical aviation illustrators Clayton Knight (1891–1969) and William Heaslip (1898–1970), beginning with a broad history of aviation. The text explores Knight’s childhood and early adulthood, then Heaslip’s, before merging to follow both men throughout their careers.
