Liam Trulane and Katie Summers share a bitter past. Liam broke Katie's heart years ago, and she's never gotten over it. When he comes back to Independence Falls to broker a deal to buy Katie's family's business, it raises some painful memories for both of them. She decides to get her revenge while negotiating an agreement that leaves her family on top; however, things don't work out quite as she plans.
VERDICT The chemistry between Liam and Katie is presented as a fact rather than allowed to build for the reader, while the secondary characters are underdeveloped. Nonetheless, the couple's relationship is appealing in its push and pull. This latest from Stone (Full Exposure) just misses being a must purchase but will be appreciated by fans of the series.
