Kate Sherwood's grandmother Sally has convinced Kate to vacation with her at Rainbow's End in the Texas Hill Country. The resort has seen better days, but Sally has fond memories of a visit many years earlier with her late husband, and she would like her granddaughter to see that there is more to life than a career. As Sally and local widower Roy begin dating, she hopes that Kate and another guest, Greg, will also form a relationship. Having left a successful job, Greg, however, is unsure of what his future holds, Kate's boss expects her to work while on vacation, and Sally will need to leave her home in Buffalo, NY, to spend more time with Roy. Can each of them allow God to lead them and their dreams for the future?
VERDICT Well-drawn and likable characters pervade this enjoyable, contemporary romance. Readers will probably guess the ending, but getting there is half the fun. This promising series opener by Cabot (Summer of Promise) will appeal to fans of Lori Copeland and Lauraine Snelling.
