While a handful of black-and-white illustrations and maps are scattered throughout the text, the absence of any of the immense quantity of beautiful and impassioned primary materials generated by both sides during the conquest stands as a glaring omission. However, this work is a respectable reference for collections supporting high school world history curricula.
