After five seasons of her Emmy and Peabody Award-winning show, chef, author, and restaurateur Vivian Howard decided it was time to close the book on
A Chef's Life. To honor the occasion, Howard threw a Harvest Feast to thank everyone who played a role in the show's production. While this allowed Howard the opportunity to take a loving look back at some of the show's special moments, preparing dishes for the feast provided her with the chance to check a few more items off her culinary list—chow-chow and the Southern delicacy known as paw paws—while celebrating the simple pleasures of farm-to-table Southern country cooking.
VERDICT Newcomers to the series will be immediately smitten, while longtime fans will savor every moment of this superbly produced finale.
