The Metabarons: Second Cycle Finale

Not a particularly great starting point for new readers, but so packed with magnificent action and trippy notions about human nature that even the uninitiated are likely to find something to enjoy in this operatic science fiction epic.

The Knights of Heliopolis

The story begins as a riff on The Man in the Iron Mask but quickly twists, turns, and defies easy categorization. It includes mystical rituals, a secret history of the world, talking gorillas, an exploration of sex and gender roles, and brutal brawls between superhuman combatants. Fun to read and epic in scope.

The Borgias

An epic historical saga of blood, sex, and corruption. Originally published in four separate volumes, collected as a single work for the first time.

The Magical Twins

Largely avoiding the pitfall of the kind of forced morality that often turns such all-ages adventures into a total drag yet with just enough focus on team work and responsibility to keep parents looking for a positive message happy, this one is a total blast.

Showman Killer

Fans of Jodorowsky's cult films (e.g., El Topo) and other comic work will be thrilled to see a new title from him; enthusiasts of sf and European translations will be delighted by this fantastical story, which isn't like much else out there.
