After a tense hearing at which a judge rules against Miriam (Léa Drucker) for sole custody of her young son (Thomas Gioria) and teen daughter (Mathilde Auneveux), sharing instead with her ex-spouse Antoine (Denis Ménochet) becomes the new front in their ongoing war. The second film in a proposed trilogy (the initial half-hour entry Just Before Losing Everything is also included), writer-director Xavier Legrand's discomfiting drama gradually reveals Antoine's brutish tendencies and builds to a harrowing confrontation, and Miriam's concerns are fully vindicated.
