What is love? What does it mean to be in love? What happens when people with autism grow up and want to find a love of their own? This documentary follows four adults in differing stages of this journey, and their answers are awe-inspiring and heart-wrenching in their simplicity and transparency. Viewers meet a young man driven almost to the edge with issues of self-worth, a couple tentatively finding their way to each other, and a man mourning a wife who has died from cancer. Fuller does an exceptional job of letting them speak for themselves without directing the discussions.
VERDICT A truly thought-provoking documentary, simultaneously uplifting and devastatingly honest. Valuable to those on the autism spectrum, their caretakers, and all who work with them.
