Godzilla: Here There Be Dragons

In the 1500s, Queen Elizabeth tasks Sir Francis Drake with locating a mysterious island upon which, legend has it, a Spanish ship laden with treasure ran aground centuries earlier. While locating the island proves relatively simple for the famed explorer, he and his crew are woefully unprepared to handle the challenges presented by the local wildlife, which include enormous man-eating crabs, batlike creatures with a ravenous thirst for human blood, and a towering beast of unparalleled ferocity called Godzilla. A series of harrowing encounters ensue. Upon discovering the location of the lost treasure, Sir Drake hatches a plan to provoke Godzilla into a battle against a few of the island’s other monstrous inhabitants, hoping they’ll be too preoccupied kicking apart mountains and blasting one another with atomic flames to notice him and the surviving members of his crew absconding with the loot. Meanwhile, a ferocious pirate hellbent on settling a long-held grudge against Sir Drake lurks in the shadows, awaiting the ideal moment to strike.
