Dragtails: Fierce Cocktails Inspired by Drag Royalty

Recipe developer Wood and drag photographer and writer Bailey team up for a collection of cocktails inspired by some of drag’s most beloved performers. They draw from the unique personalities, styles, and catchphrases of the featured drag queens to create extravagant and colorful craft cocktails that can be easily replicated at home. Each recipe includes an ingredients list with both metric and imperial measurements, a paragraph about the drink’s inspiration, and instructions on how to mix, serve, and garnish the cocktail. Each drink is styled with over-the-top accessories that represent the performer who inspired it—Scottish queen Lawrence Chaney’s “Queen of Scots” cocktail is a majestic purple with a Scottish thistle garnish, while the illustration for the Laganja Estranja–inspired “Chilled Greens” features cannabis leaves. Nondrinkers will be pleased to find that there are also nonalcoholic recipes inspired by sober queens, including mocktail versions that look just as tasty and glamorous as the alcoholic cocktails.
