In the film version of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Dumbledore says to Harry, “Soon we must all face the choice between what is right and what is easy.” In libraries, we often discuss the future of search in the same moralistic overtones: “Google dumbs down information seeking to the lowest common denominator and produces marginal results.
