Schneider Joins Equinox Software

Free Range Librarian and opinionated blogger Karen Schneider has joined open source ILS advocates and developers Equinox Software. Schneider is leaving her post at the College Center for Library Automation, Tallahassee, FL, to become community librarian for theEvergreen ILS support company, where she hopes to open the “almost limitless possibilities” of open source software to the entire library community.

Additionally, Beverly Church, another SirsiDynix alum, has joined open source outfit LibLime as project manager. In addition to 25 years' experience in library automation, she holds an MLS from the University of Toronto.

Lastly, ProQuest has tapped John Law to hold the new position of VP of discovery services. As such, he will “oversee business, technical, and project leadership for building information solutions aimed at getting librarians and end users to their information 'discovery moment' effortlessly,” the company said. Law has been with ProQuest several years and has managed its online platform as well as leading its “Student Research Behavior Study.”
