VTLS Offers No Roaming Deal

-- Library Journal, 3/26/2007

VTLS is offering a free license to its Virtua ILS system under a new "No Roaming" program to North American libraries that agree "to sign a three-year maintenance agreement." To sweeten the deal further, the first five takers will be eligible for a 50 percent discount on the vendor's VITAL digital repository product. The program is open to facilities "running products for which their vendor has announced the end-of-life." "We're very concerned when we see a large number of libraries feeling that they are boxed in," said VTLS CEO Vinod Chachra. "They have options and they don't need to roam far to find that VIRTUA is a thoroughly modern ILS, using Oracle and featuring full functionality that will help their library to stay on the cutting edge of technology. Most importantly, unlike some open source or proprietary options. VIRTUA is available today as a solid and functionally complete solution."
