Polaris Adds New Features

By Michael Rogers -- Library Journal, 3/1/2007

The American Library Association’s (ALA) Midwinter Meeting wasn’t all content deals, however. Along with racking up 51 library sales, Polaris also has added some new twists with more scheduled for ALA annual in June. President and CEO Bill Schickling told LJ that Polaris has updated its authority control tool. The vendor also finished its reporting utility called Simply Reports and added faceted searching to its PAC. Additionally, Polaris has added a Books To Go feature that allows libraries to check with book jobbers for title availability, etc., before ordering.

Along with its 51 ILS sales, the vendor’s “sales of complementary products including Polaris Inventory Manager and ExpressCheck grew by 50 percent.”
