ebrary debuts eBOP Platform

By Michael Rogers -- Library Journal, 2/15/2007

ebrary has launched a new ordering platform, dubbed eBOP, which “makes it easy for librarians to preview thousands of ebooks and other authoritative content, purchase and subscribe to individual titles, or create a custom collection on-the-fly.” The platform is integrated with YBP's GOBI (Global Online Bibliographic Information) and Blackwell's Collection Manager. The vendor also is offering licensing agreements for eBOP to organizations needing a distribution tool for their online PDF content. The new platform lets librarians search through tens of thousands of ebooks and other documents from more than 260 leading publishers, preview titles in full text before making a purchasing decision, select a pricing model for each title—either subscription or ownership—choose an access model, automatically calculate costs for purchased titles, and more.
