Vicki Beene-Beaver is now Assistant Administrator for Youth Services, Southeastern Massachusetts Regional Library System, Lakeville. She was Young Adult Librarian, Atlanta-Fulton County Library System.

Anne Craig is the new Director, Illinois State Library, Springfield, replacing Jean Wilkins, who retired in December 2004. Craig has served at the library since 1989, most recently as Associate Director, Library Automation and Technology.

Jason Griffey is now Reference/Instruction Librarian, Lupton Library, University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He was Web Specialist, Information Technology Division, Middle Tennessee State University, Murfreesboro.

New appointees to the Federal Depository Library Council by Public Printer of the United States Bruce James include Peter Hemphill, Senior Manager of Software Development, Information Handling Services Inc.; Marian Parker, Associate Dean for Information Services, Director of the Professional Center Library, and Professor of Law, Wake Forest University, Winston-Salem, NC; Linda Saferite, CEO, Tulsa City-County Library; Mark Sandler, Collection Development Officer, University of Michigan University Library, Ann Arbor; and Geoffrey Swindells, Head of the Government Documents Department, University of Missouri-Columbia.

Robert Hulshof-Schmidt is now Program Manager of the Government Research and Electronic Services Team, Oregon State Library, Salem. He was Manager of Member Services and OCLC Services, Southeastern Library Network (SOLINET).

Barbara Nosal has retired as Librarian, Pearl Street Library, Enfield, CT, after 20 years of service.

Tony Stankus, Science Librarian, College of the Holy Cross, Worcester, MA, since 1974, will receive the 2005 Rose Vormelker National Award at the Special Libraries Association 2005 Annual Conference in Toronto on June 5. Stankus has also been Adjunct Professor of Special and Scientific Librarianship, University of Rhode Island, for 22 years.

Salvatore Stingo will retire as Head Librarian, Milford Public Library, CT, at the end of June, after 18 years in the position.

Obituary

Charlotte Kim, retired Assistant Commissioner for Neighborhood Services (1990–2004), Chicago Public Library System, died on May 1 at the age of 65.

Gary O. Rolstad, retired Associate State Librarian, State Library of Louisiana, Baton Rouge, died at the age of 56.
