Catie Berton is one of the busiest people in Pine Harbour. She’s a hairdresser and a real estate agent, volunteers for most events, and has now joined the local search and rescue team. Her nemesis is Will Kincaid, school principal and SRT member, who’s too attractive for his own good. When past misunderstandings boil over, their tentative attempts to work together bring their attraction to the forefront, but can they let go of the past in order to work out a future together? Especially when an entire small town is suddenly paying attention. York’s “Kincaids of Pine Harbour” series continues with this third novel (after
Fierce at Heart) which deals with frenemies-to-lovers, parental loss, and finding home. This series itself is an offshoot of her “Pine Harbour” series, and while each novel holds up well as a stand-alone, readers will be invested in finding out about the other characters and want to binge the series.
VERDICT Recommended for libraries where Sharon Sala’s “Blessings” series, Robyn Carr’s “Virgin River” series, or Jodi Thomas’s “Harmony” series are popular.
