This is a story about a dangerous assassin by the name of Ryang-Ha, a man wanted by 20 different organizations who is infamous for having killed 18 people in one night. Chateau Dankworth may be new to the business, but she’s determined to succeed despite others’ opinions. A chance encounter between the two causes Ryang-Ha to become obsessed with Chateau, and his strange courtship involves taking out her targets for her. Much to Chateau’s disdain, Ryang-Ha demands dates in exchange for providing her with information about where he hid her targets. Chateau’s heartless demeanor, however, is the very thing that attracts Ryang-Ha to her from the beginning. Further complications arise when a new mystery person, one with a grudge against Ryang-Ha, starts to cause mayhem to the delicate truce between Ryang-Ha and Chateau.
VERDICT The artwork is very nice, though the violent action scenes are reminiscent of a Quentin Tarantino film. This is a love story with guns and dead bodies. Despite their more futuristic settings, Cowboy Bebop and Gunslinger Girl have similar vibes.
