When NYC comedian Sam Leyland and his pop star girlfriend break up, she releases a hit single about their relationship. He escapes the paparazzi and finds refuge with his best friend, Bree Edwards. She invites him to stay as long as he needs and is there to support him through this particularly tumultuous moment, even though she has secretly loved Sam all her life. A job opportunity that comes Bree’s way will put her halfway across the country, and ultimately far away from Sam, which might just be the break she needs to finally get over him and move forward with her life. Sam, for his part, seems determined to succumb to the downward spiral that is taking his career and Bree with him. Even if she stays, it might be too late for Sam to salvage their friendship, and most importantly, his heart for the only girl he’s ever really loved. Unfortunately, this story misses the mark on any sort of real humor, which would be expected when the protagonist is a comedian.
