Here Smith recounts her 12-year career with Virgin Atlantic, where she worked as an air hostess serving wealthy customers and sometimes celebrities, defusing irate passengers, and partying in various cities. While the book starts off strong with descriptions of the air hostess recruitment process and training period, it eventually devolves into a list of rich men the author slept with. Reminiscent of Trudy Baker and Rachel Jones's classic Coffee, Tea or Me??, Smith's description tells more about her dating and sex life than about being an air hostess.
VERDICT For readers who have ever wondered what it's like to be a flight attendant or to sleep with different men in exotic locales, this memoir is for them. It's like Sex and the City on a 747.
