The three databases comprising the American Mosaic Suite—the African American Experience, the Latino American Experience, and the American Indian Experience—have added dozens of new topical reference libraries. Atla produces research tools for the study of religion and theology available on EBSCOhost, including Atla Religion Database®, the premier index of articles, reviews, and essays in all fields of religion and theology, and AtlaSerials® (Atlas®) and AtlaSerials PLUS® (Atlas PLUS®), online full-text collections of major religion and theology journals. Atla Religion Database® (Atla RDB®) recently surpassed more than 3.0 million records, with more than 1,100 journals currently being indexed and 580 titles available in full text. The current title list includes titles from Iceland and Iran, covering material in Icelandic and Persian. In addition, coverage of Korean, Chinese, Arabic, and other content increased. Bolstered by the addition this past year of more than 40 titles that are diverse in terms of publication, language, content, scope, and coverage, Atlas now contains more than 370 full-text titles and Atlas PLUS contains more than 580 full-text titles.

Wiley adds 160 entries on financial sociology, social movements, rural sociology, migration, homelessness, social work, media and digital media, social practices, and more. New topic centers are being added to Bloom’s Literature. The new Fine Art Topic Center features thousands of high-resolution images, more than 1,500 biographical entries on great artists, in-depth overview articles on major artistic periods and movements, and more than 50 full-length videos from the BBC and National Geographic, among others. The World of Dance Topic Center contains thousands of new entries on dancers, dance subjects, and related topics, along with images and full-length dance videos.

Print reference titles will be added to this resource, including Diversity: Understanding and Navigating Discrimination in America (from Omnigraphics) and The SAGE Encyclopedia of Trans Studies, as well as updates from the AllSides RedBlue Dictionary. Primary sources from CQ Press’s series “Historical Documents” and “Political Handbook of the World” will be added, too.

Data Planet, a repository of statistical data, has a new platform with updates. The revised universal header offers a larger search bar, access to “Data Basics” statistical literacy content, unified help options, and a larger space for institutional logos. A new homepage offers a “soft landing” for users (particularly those new to data research and Data Planet), with a three-tabbed browsing panel (users can browse by subject, source, and geography), featured data sets, and access to the “Data Basics” reference library, an entry point to help novice users learn about working with statistics. The updated Data Planet data viewer page has improved left-hand navigation, better criteria selection (with easier ability for multi-select, pop-out boxes for large menus of content, and a sleeker design), simpler iconography for tools (including an embed option), and an improved legend. The search results page is simplified, and filtering capability is enhanced. A new Geography Browse option lets users easily filter results based on geographic location, including county, city, census tract, zip code, and more. Accessibility is improved, too.

A second collection of filmed performances has been added to Drama Online. National Theatre Collection 2 launched with 10 titles, and 10 more will complete the collection in February 2022. New content will include Hedda Gabler (starring Ruth Wilson and Rafe Spall), All My Sons (starring Sally Field and Bill Pullman), and Julie (starring Vanessa Kirby and Eric Kofi Abrefa).

Infobase adds a Graduate Education Planning section, with nine articles about researching, choosing, and paying for graduate schools. Articles on networking are updated, with two new ones on virtual networking opportunities and strategies. There are 18 new articles on emerging careers, including behavioral health technicians, deepfake professionals, e-sports professionals, live streamers, medical screeners, and technology ethicists.

The Health Reference Library Premium has been updated to include 75-plus ebooks on diseases and health conditions, information on support groups, increased search functionality, and relevant news highlight updates. Content is also easier to share on social media. Interactive tools and a body mass index (BMI) calculator are coming soon (though often critiqued for its racist origins and inaccuracy, the BMI remains a commonly used measure in medicine).

IGI Global. 

IGI Global converts more than 30 Journals to Full Gold Open Access. This allows authors to publish their work under a CC-BY license, under which they maintain the copyright and others can distribute, adapt, and build upon the work without limitations.

This resource now features a tutorial on giving virtual and in-person presentations; a two-part tutorial on digital citizenship, complementing the platform’s existing tools on critical thinking and identifying misinformation; updated content on copyright; and material for the ninth edition of the MLA Handbook.

This resource’s redesign will make it quicker to navigate and easier to use. Infobase will add dozens of new issues and new and updated pro/con articles. Curriculum Tools will be thoroughly revised to help students and instructors understand the product, improve critical thinking skills, and expand classroom use. The relaunched database will include more Intelligence Squared U.S. debate videos and NPR Fresh Air podcasts, all curated and linked to relevant articles. The “Bill of Rights in Debate” section will be overhauled to expand coverage.

Orlando: A Feminist Resource for the History of Women’s Writing. Cambridge Univ.

This literary-historical resource devoted to women’s writing in the British Isles will move to the Cambridge Core and will get a new interface that meets current standards for accessibility and responsive design. The “help”/“how to” section will explain how to navigate the site. Faceted searching by gender (the database incudes contributions from scholars of different genders examining women’s writing, and users can search by “woman, “nonconforming,” “trans,” “man,” and “unknown”), nationality, genre, time period, and geographic location will be available. Unique tags will support faceting by context. A time line view option will be faceted and filtered by type of event. A “explore” page will display content randomly to allow users to discover material. A “connections” screen will show the relationships between authors, such as when one author mentioned another. An “exhibits” feature will provide images of rare texts and author portraits by researchers who form part of the Orlando community. Users will be able to easily download author profiles. Pedagogical material will be available for instructors. A “contribute” option will let scholars become involved in future updates. COUNTER5 usage reporting will be available.
