Vampire Hunter D: Omnibus Book One

This collection of the first three novels in Kikuchi’s horror series (Vampire Hunter D, Raiser of Gales, and Demon Deathchase) is an interesting combination of Japanese anime and Western fiction that takes place in a dystopian future. Vampires have ruled the world for centuries after humanity waged war with nuclear weapons. In the aftermath of the war, much knowledge of science and technology was lost as humanity focused on simple survival. The vampires’ control over humanity is now degrading, and the rulers face the possibility of extinction at the hands of human hunters. The series follows the adventures of a vampire hunter named D as he travels the world fighting monsters, including the Midwich Medusas, werewolves, vampires, and more. The mysterious D is revealed to be no ordinary human but a dhampir: a creature who is half vampire and half human‒whose abilities rival those of vampires of legend.
