Inspired by the movie Three Men and a Baby, this new series from Pearce (Romancing the Rancher) features three former Marines, who leave the military behind for life on a ranch. Jen Rossi has finished her naval tour aboard a floating hospital and has come to get her one-year-old son, Sky, from her ex, Dave. The only problem is that Sky is gone—to a ranch in the middle of the Plumas National Forest. Following him there, Jen is confronted by Dave’s three friends, Luke, Noah, and Max, who are not happy that Dave has left Sky with them or that she has “abandoned” her son. Clearing up the confusion proves easier than fighting the increasing attraction that continues to build between Noah and Jen. Being stranded together in a snowstorm forces them to acknowledge the troublesome attraction that both can no longer deny. Confronted by the implications, Jen chooses her duty to her son and leaves the ranch and Noah behind, but maybe she can find a way to make Noah part of her life after all.
VERDICT Primarily set on a cattle ranch, fans of Carolyn Brown will welcome this rustic treat with a bit of spice.
