It’s 1999 in Southwest England. After a night out drinking, Olivia Rutherford drives three friends home through the Devil’s Corridor, a stretch of road rumored to be the site of strange happenings. Startled by a man in the street, Olivia veers off the road and crashes. She awakens, badly injured but alive, only to find that her friends are gone. Twenty years later, journalist Jenna Halliday is starting an investigative podcast about the disappearance of the girls, hoping that the interviews will turn up new clues. Jenna makes her way to Wilshire, a small village in the UK, where every person she meets has something to hide. Alternating between Olivia’s and Jenna’s perspectives, voiced by Claire Corbett and Joanne Frogatt respectively, each chapter adds a layer to the mystery. Listeners will be eager for more and may be shocked to find out how the pieces fit together. The audio’s greatest strength is Frogatt’s narration, which provides a realistic portrayal of the journalist balancing work with personal struggles.
