What started out as an apology for his brother’s behavior, connects Ago Accardi to his brother’s ex-intended, Victoria, for at least another 18 years. He did not intend to sleep with her, but one thing led to another. When he hears, via her angry father, that Victoria is pregnant, he offers to marry her. Ago doesn’t appreciate having his carefully planned life unexpectedly upended, but the two quickly learn they must work together for the sake of their child. Crews (The Christmas He Claimed the Secretary) unfolds a tangled web and demonstrates the consequences of choices made. However, the story also proves that sometimes endings can overcome the beginnings.
VERDICT Fans of happily-ever-after stories will enjoy this read.
