Gray’s (Cozy Knits: 50 Fast & Easy Projects from Top Designers) latest book is based on the “Star Wars” film saga, featuring 28 projects that offer a range of accessories, toys, home décor, apparel, and costume replicas. The patterns are contributed by various designers and are written for children and adults. They feature a variety of knitting techniques, from basic to advanced. Complete instructions are given to make each item. Princess Leia’s Hoth Snow vest is one example of fine design that could be worn proudly anywhere, as could many of the themed accessories in the book. Several garments have intricate “Star Wars”-inspired designs, and may be considered as works of knitted art. Fun facts, and behind-the-scenes insights about the making of the “Star Wars” saga are woven into the text.
VERDICT This is a great book for “Star Wars” enthusiasts looking to knit something unique. The patterns offer something for many types of knitters, however, making the more challenging pieces will require experience and advanced skills.
