For sisters Milliken and Mae Mae, their world is the Trench, a massive channel carved into an endless plain of ice and snow. VERDICT Lemire (Sweet Tooth) and Jock (The Losers) create a harsh, frozen world that generates more questions than answers. This first volume sets the stage for deeper mysteries that might be resolved in later issues. The story will appeal to mature tweens and older readers as they follow the young female protagonists surviving in a violent, alien landscape.
