Frederick’s sequel to Heart and Seoul is a lovely, warm, and satisfying romance. At 25 years old, Hara Wilson, a Korean American adoptee, has decided she’s ready to meet her birth mother. Choi Yujun, Hara’s stepbrother, is the first person she meets upon her arrival in Korea, and she’s instantly smitten with him. It’s a romantic dilemma that causes Hara to question her deepest-held beliefs about identity, family, love, and fate. Greta Jung’s narration of the Frederick’s contemporary romance matches the liveliness of the plot.
VERDICT A fun romp whose adroit audiobook narration only adds to the pleasure.
