Grey’s (The Last Love Note) novel follows Evie, an Australian woman who wakes up in the hospital, having survived the car crash that killed her husband. Experiencing severe memory loss, 29-year-old Evie believes herself to be a teenager again. Shocked and confused, she learns that her adult life isn’t what she imagined; everyone from her past has disappeared entirely, and those around her are strangers. After fleeing her husband’s funeral, she meets Drew, a handsome photographer whom she quickly begins to trust. Drew helps her search for answers, but it seems he knows more about her than he’s letting on. Grey’s beautifully crafted love story connects Evie’s fragmented memories through the lens of photography and linguistics, playing with the different ways that memories can be inscribed. Narrators Kristy Best and Nic English provide solid Australian accents that bring the characters to life, with voices full of both passion and frustration.
