Third in the “Noumenon” series, (after Noumenon Infinity), this book continues the story of a group of humans from the 22nd century who return to the planet Noumenon. There they discover the artificial intelligence known as I.C.C., which originally controlled their convoy of nine ships, has awoken and made contact with the native Noumonian species. After 100,000 years of tangled history and criss-crossing subdimensions of interstellar space between the Earth and Noumenon, the group must reexamine the meaning of humanity as they rush toward the thrilling conclusion of the trilogy. VERDICT Although a brief overview of the previous two books is provided, this finale relies heavily on the knowledge of worldbuilding in earlier entries to understand the events of the story fully.
VERDICT Adult and mature YA readers who enjoy classic space operas of interplanetary travel and contact with alien life-forms should find this appealing.
