This souvenir-style book includes stunning photos and an amazing backstory that will inspire readers to visit the Washington, DC, memorial to Indigenous peoples who served in the U.S. miltary in every major conflict since the Revolutionary War. The book shows, in pictures and text, how the monument came to fruition, starting in 1994 when Congress passed the Native American Veterans’ Memorial Establishment Act, through the years of design and creation, to the monument’s upcoming dedication ceremony in November 2022. The book also contains photos of Indigenous veterans and works by Indigenous artists. Combined with meaningful quotes, the images and words work together symbiotically to create a memorable experience for readers.
