Home or Away) introduces 30-year-old Sarah Jones, whose new life in Minneapolis feels flat until she meets the other Sarahs, courtesy of 17-year-old Sarah Jones. After posting questionable content on Instagram, the teen has been instructed by her school to use the social media tool in a more positive way and decides to track down other residents of Minneapolis named Sarah Jones. The six Sarahs Jones, who refer to each other by their ages to avoid confusion, are as different as their shared name is common. “30” feels a kinship with “27” and quickly comes to think of her as her best friend. Things look even rosier when 30 meets the very attractive George Nightingale. While their chemistry is undeniable, George, a newly minted FBI agent, has been assigned a fraud case involving 30’s new friend. When 27’s boss dies, the Sarahs vow to solve her murder, and in the process they uncover more secrets than they could have imagined.
VERDICT This lighthearted cozy with a charming premise addresses deeper themes of identity, loyalty, and forgiveness. Perfect for fans of Richard Osman or TV’s Only Murders in the Building.
